Sojitz Corporation has acquired 95.24% of the ordinary shares issued by Saigon Paper Corporation (SGP), one of the leading paper manufacturers in Vietnam. This acquisition marks Sojitz’s entry into the production of paper and cardboard for domestic use in Vietnam.
Sojitz contributes to the development of Vietnam in various activity sectors, such as afforestation and agriculture, manufacturing and consumer goods. Taking advantage of its experience in Vietnam and international know-how, it will work to strengthen SGP’s manufacturing infrastructure for paper and cardboard for domestic use in order to meet the growing demand for paper products in Vietnam as the country is modernising, improving the life of Vietnamese consumers.
Saigon Paper Corporation is the main Vietnam producer of paper for domestic use, including tissue products, toilet paper and paper napkins.
