Voith and Palm are working together on the conversion of the UK paper machine, which will produce recycled-fibre corrugated medium

Palm Group has started a project to convert PM 7 at its King’s Lynn mill in the United Kingdom for the production of corrugated base paper made from recycled fibre.

The conversion responds to the structural decline in demand for newsprint and will allow Palm to adapt the mill’s production to changing conditions in the European paper market, while strengthening its presence in the packaging segment.

The project is being carried out in cooperation with Voith, with which Palm has a long-standing partnership. The two companies have already worked together on several investment and modernization projects, including the installation of the BlueLine OCC stock preparation system for PM 5 at Palm’s Aalen mill in Germany.

The conversion of PM 7 at King’s Lynn represents another step in adapting Palm’s production facilities to changing market requirements and supporting the growth of recycled-fibre packaging paper production.
