Stora Enso has partnered with swedish laminator Oppboga Bruk AB for the conversion and sale of its newly launched Ensovelvet, an uncoated solid bleached sulphate board. Ensovelvet offers a velvety smooth surface, high whiteness, and stiffness, appealing to premium packaging applications.
While Stora Enso’s Ensovelvet range covers 240–320gsm, Oppboga Bruk will laminate higher weights from 490 to 650gsm, enabling customers to maintain a consistent look and feel across packaging formats. The collaboration benefits from Oppboga Bruk’s recent €6 million investment in a purpose-built machine, ensuring superior quality and consistent sheet flatness through advanced moisture monitoring and control.
Andrew Robinson, CEO of Oppboga Bruk, highlighted the company’s excitement in extending its collaboration with Stora Enso, complementing its existing luxury board offerings such as Ensocoat 2S. Ensovelvet in higher weights will be showcased at London Packaging Week 2025.
