Papelera Guipuzcoana de Zicuñaga, part of the Iberpapel Group, has selected international technology group Andritz to supply a new chipping line for its pulp mill in Hernani, Spain. Start-up is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The delivery includes a horizontally fed HHQ-Chipper equipped with the advanced TurnKnife system, designed to optimize wood utilization and ensure top chip quality. The scope of supply also covers log receiving, washing, chipping, and conveyor systems. With a processing capacity of 400 m³/h of debarked eucalyptus logs, the new line will replace two existing units.
This project further strengthens the long-standing partnership between Andritz and Papelera Guipuzcoana, following the successful delivery of a lime kiln in 2023. The order, booked in Andritz’s second-quarter 2025 intake, underscores Iberpapel’s continued investment in efficiency and environmental performance.
