Sofidel announces a new investment to further expand its production capacity in the United States. The plan includes the installation of a 75,000-ton-per-year Valmet TAD (Through-Air-Dried) tissue machine along with the associated converting lines for finished products. Start-up is scheduled for Q2 2028.

«This major investment strengthens our presence in the U.S., enhancing our ability to meet growing customer demand while delivering top-quality products through TAD technology,» commented Luigi Lazzareschi, CEO of Sofidel.

Currently, Sofidel operates 14 production plants across 11 U.S. states—including Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Illinois, Mississippi, Florida, Ohio, South Carolina, and North Carolina—with a corporate office in Horsham, Pennsylvania. In just over a decade, Sofidel has become the fourth-largest producer in the North American market and a leader in private label tissue products.

With a global workforce of around 9,500 employees, the group has a total annual production capacity of 1.983 million tons, and its consolidated net revenue in 2024 reached €3.225 billion. The company is committed to achieving Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2050.
