WEPA Group has announced a major investment at its Bridgend site in South Wales, UK, which includes the installation of a new tissue paper machine and two converting lines, along with a full modernization of palletizing operations.

The new machine will add 70,000 tons of annual production capacity and is part of WEPA’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the UK market. “The UK is a key strategic market for us,” said CEO Martin Krengel, highlighting the company’s focus on quality and sustainability.

COO Harm Bergmann-Kramer noted the project aims to boost capacity, efficiency, and environmental performance. The new equipment will reduce water and energy consumption and increase the use of recycled fibres in hygiene paper production.

The Bridgend plant, employing around 345 people, produces toilet paper and kitchen towels for the UK market. The upgrades are expected to be completed within two years.

WEPA Group operates 14 sites across Europe and is one of the continent’s top three hygiene paper producers, with annual revenues of around €1.6 billion.
