The Wepa Group one of the leading European producers of hygiene paper, has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in MPH1865, a French company specializing in the production of paper and soaps for the away-from-home sector. The transaction, subject to obtaining the necessary approvals, aims to consolidate Wepa’s presence in France and strengthen the local industrial network.
According to company executives, the integration of the two family-owned companies will promote international growth while maintaining local production, jobs, and shared values of operational excellence, customer focus, and sustainability. Marc Miribel will remain chairman of the company, headquartered in the south of France.
Andreas Krengel, Wepa’s Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized that the collaboration “will create added value for national and international customers, with greater expertise and innovative solutions.” CEO Martin Krengel added: “The transaction strengthens Franco-German cooperation and represents a natural fit between two family-owned companies with a long-term vision.”
