The United States-Russian company Ilim Group has announced its intention to increase its exports to China by 60% by 2023. The company has declared that its activity in the Chinese market exceeded a billion dollars in 2017 and that this volume will increase further. By 2021 Ilim Group wants to increase exports to China to 1.9 million tons with the strategic objective of reaching 2.4 million tons by 2023. Ilim Group presented this plan in Baoding, in China, at an international conference in which the major operators in the paper and cellulose industry from Russia and China took part. The conference concerned global trends in the pulp and cardboard market and the main investment projects aimed at increasing the volume of Ilim products up until 2022. More than 300 representatives from 120 companies took part in the event.
