The Finnish packaging group Huhtamaki www.huhtamaki.com will produce paper bags in Polandwithin the framework of a joint venture with the Scottish paper producer Smith Anderson Group Limited. The industrial agreement also foresees the sale of paper bags in Eastern Europe.
Huhtamaki will hold a majority stake in the joint venture, even if the company did not provide any details on the exact stakes held by each partner. The machinery and equipment used for production will be installed in the already existing Huhtamaki plant in Czeladź, a Polish city in the Będzin district and are expected to start working as early as in the first quarter of this year. In the words of a spokesperson, the initial capacity will be relatively low, but it can be increased depending on the development of demand.
