In a decision published on 23th January 2018, the EU Commission declared its approval of the acquisition of Emin Leydier, i.e. A French producer of containerboard and corrugated board, by the Spanish Saica According to the Commission, the operation does not violate the principles of competition, as both companies have a limited share in the corrugated packaging market.

On 20th December 2017, the Commission was notified of the acquisition project.
