Westervelt Company www.westervelt.com, a private company with its headquarters in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is completing plans for the expansion of its own capacity for timber production in the south of Alabama. The specific location and design of the new Westervelt timber factory are being prepared for final approval by the company’s Board of Directors.

The new site will complete the leading timber factory at Moundville, also in Alabama, which is the second Southern Yellow Pine production plant in the United States. The expansion will gain advantage from the proximity of the timber and pellets company, as well as from the existing workforce and customer database. The new factory will produce about 250 million feet of cardboard a year and will create more than 100 new jobs.
