Since it started its work against greenwashing, Two Sides has examined communications to the consumer provided by 921 companies throughout the world. Of these, more than a third contained references to the environmental impact of paper which have no scientific basis, often failing to comply with regulations regarding correct information to the customer. Thanks to the intervention of Two Sides, 335 companies have corrected or removed their messages. The incorrect perception of the environmental quality of paper and printing is still very widespread and is driven by companies which, in order to convince their customers to receive bills electronically, use messages such as “save the trees”. These messages are not only wrong and devoid of scientific basis, but often fail to inform that even digital communication has its impact.
