Description: DS Smith has announced total investments for approximately £100m in two new corrugated packaging facilities in Italy and Poland to meet customers’ increasing demand. The investment in Italy follows the significant growth of the company over the last three years and will support DS Smith’s ambitious development plans to continue its organic growth. The market for corrugated cardboard, which is ecologically sustainable as it is based on paper, is expected to see further growth, driven by the increasing popularity of e-commerce and the continued expansion of the food and beverage sectors. The new production facility will provide for the necessary productive capacity.
With 85% of its total offerings focused on consumer goods, DS Smith is well positioned to respond to these trends.
The Italian plant will be located in Castelfranco Emilia in the province of Modena and will give a big boost to the region’s economy.
