Dunapack Packaging, part of the Austrian Prinzhorn Group, plans to invest about 52 million euro to build a new state-of-the-art packaging plant in Hungary, whose activity will largely be based on the production of recycled cardboard from the group subsidiary Hamburger Containerboard. The Hungarian production plant is scheduled to be opened in the summer of 2021 and will be based in Dunavarsány, about 15 kilometres south from the capital Budapest with a workforce of 200 people. Furthermore, the plant is expected to have a production capacity of 240 million square metres and, as such, to be one of the most state-of-the-art factories for the production of recycled corrugated cardboard in Europe, allowing the the production of complex corrugated boxes, such as shelf ready packaging solutions.
