Essity is surrendering its 50% shareholding in the company SCA Yildiz in Turkey. SCA Yildiz operates mainly in the childcare product sector. In 2018 the company recorded a net turnover of 364 million Swedish Kroner. The transfer will entail a currency loss of about 150 million Swedish Kroner, which will be counted as an entry which will affect the comparability in the second quarter of 2019. This will not have an impact on cash flow and net worth. The operation is subject to the competent authorities’ approval with regard to competition and should be concluded in the second quarter of 2019. Essity will keep its own presence in Turkey through its wholly controlled activities of Professional Hygiene, Incontinence Products and Medical Solutions.
