The American Domtar Corporation has recently announced that it is going to spend about 25 million dollars for the conversion of its coal boilers into methane boilers, thereby modernizing the equipment in its two production plants in Pennsylvania at the same time. The investment will enable the company to maintain about 430 jobs in the Johnsonburg paper mill, as well as in another conversion paper plant nearby. Domtar will furthermore spend 12 million dollars over the next three years to improve efficiency in the Johnsonburg plant, while other 9 millions will be used for the optimization of the conversion paper plant in DuBois, Pennsylvania, about 50 miles from Johnsonburg.
