The Klingele Group, i.e. a family-run German company, that supplies paper but also corrugated cardboard packaging solutions in corrugated cardboard and stickers, acquired 50% of Onboard Corrugated Limited and Onboard Investments Limited. The British producer of sheet feeding systems Onboard Corrugated and Onboard Investments will thus be 100% controlled by the newly established company Klingele Onboard. The purchasing price and other details of the transaction are not known.
Onboard employs 85 people in the paper mill in Wolverhampton, England. It operates two corrugators: a 2.5m machine, running E, B, C, P, BB, EB, PB and BC flutes, and a 2.2m machine, running E, B, C, EB and BC flutes. The company produces more than 100 million m² per year and has a new material handling installation. The objective for the near future is that the company continues to develop itself further on the back of strong strategic partnerships with like-minded independent box plants.
«Onboard Corrugated Limited has been growing steadily over the past few years by virtue of very competitive prices, a wide range of board grades and very short lead times», the Klingele Group writes. «The company is now well poised for the next stage in their quest to become the leading independent dedicated sheet feeder in the UK». «We have known Onboard Corrugated for several years as a trustworthy customer for our corrugated papers», says Jan Klingele, who is managing partner of the Klingele Group. «The aim of our investment is to further support the positive development of the company and participate in the successful growth of the sheet feeding activity, that is why I am happy to support Onboard even more». Klingele operates two paper mills, twelve corrugated cardboard plants and eight processing plants, employing a total of 2,400 people. The group’s turnover is put at nearly one billion Euros.
