Leipa to restructure Schrobenhausen site

German paper producer Leipa Group is realigning its business by structurally optimising and upgrading its sites. The company has announced plans to realign its site in Schrobenhausen near Munich.

These plans include the permanent closure of the site’s paper machine, which currently mainly produces envelope papers. Leipa is currently reviewing to relocate production of envelope papers to the company’s Schwedt site.

As part of its realignment in Schrobenhausen, Leipa will invest a double-digit figure in million EUR in machines and staff at the site, the company reports. The planned investments will include expansions and upgrades to the board machine, which is designed to produce greyboard. The restructuring plans also envisage building a power plant in Schrobenhausen. The investments are an expression of commitment to the Schrobenhausen site.
