The German group Palm is said to be willing to take over the Reka Wellpappenwerke corrugated board plant in Kitzingen, Germany. In 2014 Reka had actually already sold its secondary premises in Lohhof, near Munich, to the Thimm Group. This transaction is currently still subject to approval by the German Federal cartel office.

The Kitzingen plant produces corrugated board boxes. According to Reka, the site – which employs 180 people – could make 350,000 m² of corrugated board every day.

Ever since it was founded, in 1953, Reka has belonged to the Schröder family. After being integrated within the Palm Group, the plant in Kitzingen will continue to be managed by Gudrun Schröder.

The Palm Group manages five paper mills with new machines for newspaper and corrugated board material, with a production capacity of 2.2 million tons. Its corrugated board products are manufactured and processed in 26 factories. Palm has generated sales to the amount of 1.6 billion euro in 2018 with 4,000 employees.
