Cortec Corporation has announced the launch of EcoBio VpCI-146 Paper, the first VCI (vapor corrosion inhibitor) paper certified as compostable in industrial composting facilities. This material was developed for the protective packaging of both ferrous and non-ferrous metal components and is designed to offer a more sustainable alternative to traditional packaging.
The paper, which protects against corrosion on both sides by releasing inhibitory vapors, can be recycled or composted after use. Tests conducted by TÜV Austria certified the product’s compliance with the European standard EN 13432: during testing, the paper fully decomposed within six weeks, turning into compost free of harmful effects on soil.
The product has also received USDA recognition for 92% biobased content, positioning it as a viable option for companies engaged in environmental initiatives or subject to regulations aimed at reducing plastic use.
