Saica Group has begun construction of its second U.S. corrugated packaging facility in Anderson, Indiana, investing more than $110 million in the new 350,000-square-foot plant. Scheduled to open in late 2026, the site will create over 100 full-time jobs once fully operational.

The new facility, part of Saica Pack, will produce more than 1.2 million MSF of corrugated packaging annually and will serve as a backup to the company’s Hamilton, Ohio plant, strengthening supply chain resilience.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Saica Group President and CEO Susana Alejandro said the project reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the U.S. market: «We are convinced that our expertise in lighter-weight containerboard and high-performance packaging will bring real differentiation and efficiency to the U.S. market.»

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) has committed up to $2 million in tax credits, $150,000 in training grants, and $300,000 in infrastructure incentives to support the project.

The investment forms part of Saica’s $800 million U.S. expansion plan. Founded in 1943, the Spain-based company employs more than 12,000 people globally and reported $3.96 billion in sales in 2024.
