The market for cores and coreboard is gradually consolidating. The American producer of cores and packaging, Sonoco, expects to acquire the American business of Corenso. Sonoco has announced that it has signed a final agreement to take over Corenso Holdings America for about 110 million dollars in cash. The acquisition takes place shortly after Corenso separated from its activities in Europe and China. Sonoco expects to conclude the operation in the third quarter of this year.
