Valmet has signed a service agreement extension with the pulp mill from poplar AS Estonian Cell in Kunda, Estonia. The previous three-year agreement between Estonian Cell and Valmet has been extended by another five years. The order is included in orders received by Valmet in the first quarter of 2023. The value of the order was not disclosed.

The service agreement covers ongoing cooperation for spare parts, process evaluations and condition assessment of mechanical equipment, and annual shutdowns of the fiber production line and packaging line.
AS Estonian Cell is a pulp mill from poplar based in Kunda, owned by the Austrian Heinzel Group. The mill produces 190 thousand tons of poplar pulp per year, which is used for the production of printing paper, paperboard, tissue paper, and special purpose paper.
