Late last January, Voith inaugurated its new refurbishment workshop in Karlstad, Sweden, with its customers, business partners, employees, and media representatives. The new workshop and offices greatly increase capacity for industrial valve refurbishment services in the Karlstad region, Scandinavia, and throughout Europe. It also provides an opportunity to refurbish other equipment, such as rotary valves, vacuum pumps and rollers.
“Our new location in Karlstad” explains Jan Haraldsson, operations manager at Voith Paper Fabrics Högsjö AB, “is a clear investment in Voith Paper’s future in Sweden. Our customers now benefit from state-of-the-art equipment, increased capacity and an even wider range of restructuring services than before.”
During the event, members of Voith Paper Products & Services’ management teams from Sweden and Germany, along with representatives from longtime customers, learned about Voith Paper’s presence in Scandinavia and its efforts and achievements in sustainability and digitization. With the new Karlstad location, Voith replaces the previous location of its products and services division, doubles its capacity for refurbishing screw valves, and meets growing customer demands in this area. Larger screw valves can now be overhauled at Voith’s site, allowing customers to significantly reduce downtime due to overhaul at their facility. In addition, the new facility has increased overhead crane capacity.
“The expanded overhead crane capacity allows us to serve our customers with a wider range of reconditioning services” says Krister Nygard, director of the Scandinavia Service Center at Voith Paper Fabrics Högsjö AB. “We can refurbish rotary valves, vacuum pumps, rollers and other components.”
The expansion in Sweden goes hand in hand with Voith’s commitment to sustainable and efficient paper production. Renovation services enable economical use of raw materials and increased efficiency through existing resources. With the new location, Voith also has a clear goal to serve its customers with efficient and sustainable services using state-of-the-art technology and expertise.
