As announced in November 2020, the German cartonboard producer Kartonfabrik Buchmann discontinued production at its BM2 on 26th March 2021. The machine will be sold and the company has already started negotiating with dealers. Until recently, Buchmann produced roughly 30,000 tpy of folding box board on the machine. The company is now focussing on producing recycled board. The BM 3 can produce nearly 300,000 tpy of GD and GT board. Buchmann reportedly has a string of investments planned for the coming years that include making the machine more energy efficient.
