German cardboard manufacturer Buchmann has restarted its carton machine that had been idle since last June 5. The company had to stop production after a fire damaged the carton machine’s winder. The machine itself was not affected by the fire. The fire-affected rewinder was able to be quickly repaired.

Supply to customers was secured from stock at the Weig board factory in nearby Mayen. Buchmann’s paperboard machine in Annweiler has a production capacity of 260 thousand tons per year of recycled paperboard. The company was sold to the German Weig Group in the spring of this year.
