Burgo Ardennes has achieved Lean & Green certification, a European initiative supporting companies in reducing CO₂ emissions associated with logistics through performance monitoring and the implementation of measurable improvement measures.
Participation in the programme requires the development of a multi-year emissions reduction plan, together with ongoing monitoring of the results achieved throughout the reference period.
Burgo Ardennes’ plan uses 2022 as the baseline year and covers the period from 2023 to 2027. The company has set a target of reducing CO₂-equivalent emissions by 12.1% by 2027, compared with the reference scenario defined under the programme.
The measures focus primarily on freight transport and logistics, which account for the largest share of the emissions analysed.
The planned actions include increased use of rail and intermodal transport, the selective use of HVO fuel, and the optimisation of raw material supply flows.
These measures are complemented by structured monitoring of key logistics performance indicators, allowing the company to track progress and assess the effectiveness of the actions implemented against its reduction targets.
The Lean & Green certification therefore represents another step in Burgo Ardennes’ efforts to improve logistics efficiency and reduce its environmental impact, based on a structured approach to performance measurement and continuous improvement.
