The meeting to launch the EU-Merci project has been held. This is a project financed by Horizon 2020. EN-Merci aims at creating the conditions to facilitate projects to improve energy efficiency in the industrial sector and promote support schemes that are more effective by taking into account Article 7 of Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency within compulsory regimes of energy efficiency.

The project, led by RSE, will create a database of good technological and policy practices for different European countries and will share them with the industrial world and policy-makers through sizeable capacity building and a dissemination programme.. EU-Merci will involve an initial group of partners (EEA, Carbon Trust, Kape, RSE) that have data and information on the best available practices. A second group (Ape, Bserc, Cres, Enero) will use case studies to facilitate new schemes and industrial activities in their own countries. There will also be a third group (Fire, Jin, Spes) that will disseminate the outcome of the project to a wider audience.
