The Japanese Marubeni Corporation wants to build a new factory in Vietnam for making cardboard for containers. The company has declared that it has created a specific company for the manufacture of cardboard for containers and for the selling of packaging material. The company is called Kraft of Asia Paperboard & Packaging Co. The new factory, located in the province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, in the south of Vietnam, will have a capacity of 350 thousand tonnes a year. Building should start immediately and commercial production should begin in the second half of 2020.

Marubeni sees great potential in the growing Vietnamese packaging marketing, in which it aims to expand its own business in the future in the cardboard for containers sector. And it is not the only company to do this. The demand for packaging paper should increase significantly in the country, with the Vietnam Pulp and Paper Association speaking of an increase in demand of 15% in the next ten years. There is, therefore, a desire to invest in greater capacity in the country.
