The Scainstallation in Obbola , in Sweden, has applied to the municipality of Umeå for authorisation to expand kraftliner production to 850 thousand tonnes a year and for the relevant building permit. In February 2018 SCA started to increase the capacity of the Obbola factory from 450,000 to 850,000 tonnes of kraftliner a year. The factory currently manages a PM of 10 m width, which produces paper with baseline weights of between 100 and 200 g/m².
