The European Commission (EC) has approved the acquisition of sole control of the Dutch packaging company Solidus Solutions, which has so far been entirely controlled by the German private equity company Aurelius Equity Opportunities, by the US investment company Centerbridge Partners. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns. There is no overlap between the companies’ activities. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. Solidus Solutions specializes in recovered fibre-based graphic board and solid board packaging for food, beverage, horticulture, consumer products and industrial applications.
New York based private equity firm Centerbridge Partners has thus completed the €330m acquisition of the Dutch packaging producer.
