Stora Enso has announced the start of a collaboration with the Swedish company Oppboga Bruk AB for the production and marketing of the Ensocoat 2S cartonboard, available in weights of 450, 500, and 600 gsm. The agreement represents a significant step in the European distribution of this double-coated cartonboard, aimed at the luxury packaging segment and high-quality graphics.

Oppboga Bruk, active in over 40 countries and recognized as one of Europe’s leading laminators, specializes in the production of multilayer cartonboards for signs, displays, and packaging. The company recently invested in a new custom-built lamination machine: a 50-meter-long, 110-ton structure inaugurated in September 2024. This state-of-the-art plant not only increases production capacity but also ensures superior quality through continuous and automatic control of the cartonboard’s moisture profile, guaranteeing uniform sheet flatness.

“The geographical proximity to our production facility and the wide availability of raw paper reels at the Fellingsbro site make Oppboga Bruk the ideal partner for this initiative,” said Tomas Larsson, Head of Product Line SBS, FBB, Liner & Book Paper at Stora Enso.

For his part, Andrew Robinson, CEO of Oppboga Bruk, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership: “We are proud to collaborate with Stora Enso and will do our best to promote Ensocoat 2S, a top-tier multilayer cartonboard, in the international markets where we operate.”
