The multinational from Lucca, Italy, is strengthening its presence in the European market by acquiring the Hungarian Forest brand. The operation, made with Forest Papir Kft, involves not just the acquisition of the Forest brand but also a three-year rental arrangement of the production lines in the Lablatan plant (for toilet paper) and the Leànyvàr plant (for folded products, i.e., handkerchiefs and paper napkins). The agreement also includes the acquisition of the Piszke plant, northwest of Budapest, with its production line for toilet paper as well as 90,000m2 of land around the plant itself. The converting production capacity amounts to 30,000 tons and 200 workers are involved.
