Suzano has acquired a 10% stake in Imetame Logística Porto S.A., a company of Imetame Group developing a new greenfield port in Aracruz, in the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo.

Suzano will acquire the stake by contributing company-owned land located in the area planned for the port development. According to the company, the transaction will have no impact on the operational or economic performance of its pulp mill in Aracruz.

The project includes five specialised terminals for containers, general cargo, dry bulk, liquid bulk and ship-to-ship operations.

The container terminal, being developed through a joint venture with Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT), the terminal division of Hapag-Lloyd, is expected to become operational by mid-2028. It will have a 17-metre draft and a 750-metre quay, with an expected annual handling capacity of approximately 1.2 million TEUs.

The other four terminals will be developed in subsequent phases. For Suzano, the transaction represents an investment in regional logistics infrastructure through the contribution of strategically located land, without changing the operations of its nearby pulp mill.
