The Swedish packaging manufacturer Tetra Pak is reducing the production capacity of its Spanish plant in Arganda del Rey, near Madrid, which became operational in 1970 and is specialized in the production of cardboard packaging.

During the ongoing semester one of the two production lines of the site will be closed. According to Tetra Pak, about 54 employees will be affected by the shutdown of the production line, i.e. about 16% of the total workforce.

The decision of the company to discontinue the line is because the latter cannot be modernized to meet market needs. Tetra Pak has not yet provided any information on the total capacity of the plant, however the shutdown of the production line is not expected to bring with itself a correspondent reduction in supplies to customers.
