The newspaper manufacturer Norske Skog might enter a new market segment. The company is evaluating the possibility to convert its PM3 in the Norwegian plant of Skogon, which currently manufactures newspapers. The company has not yet provided further details on its plans and the products for the future. Rumour from the local press has it that Norske Skog is currently evaluating the possibility to use the PM3 for the production of cardboard.
The PM3 in the Skogon plant has a capacity of 225 000 tons of newspapers annually. This is the biggest machine in the site, which also has two other machines. PM 1 can produce up to 145 000 tons a year and PM 2 up to 150 000 tons of newspapers annually.
