Irish packaging company Zeus Group has acquired James Hamilton Group, a Northern Ireland-based printing and packaging company. With annual sales of 18 million euros and 120 employees, James Hamilton Group offers packaging, labels, office supplies and personal protective solutions in a variety of sectors including retail, food and beverage, logistics and distribution.

The company will thus significantly increase Zeus Group’s capacity with the aim of meeting the specific needs of customers in the food, beverage and retail sectors. By joining forces with James Hamilton Group, Zeus will leverage the combined buying power and unlock the operational efficiency of operations in Northern Ireland.

James Hamilton Group will continue to operate under its own brand name, leveraging its existing manufacturing expertise and management team.

«We have enjoyed watching our business expand and evolve throughout its 100-year history,» explains Keith Hamilton, chief executive officer of James Hamilton Group, «We are delighted to have finalized an agreement with Brian – Brian O’Sullivan, owner and founder of Zeus Group, ed. It was important to find a partner who shares the same values, a company that will invest further, take care of our people and, most importantly, give a more advanced offering to our loyal customers.»

This acquisition is the next part of Zeus Group’s growth strategy in 2023 to take group sales to over 500 million euros. In the past 12 months, the company has acquired Polish Polpack, Irish distributor JJ O’Toole, and British companies Swanline and Boxmart. Zeus, based in Cork, Ireland, manufactures and distributes a range of sustainable packaging solutions to customers worldwide.
